January Art Snacks

I don’t think I’ve been able to say enough how much I adore the contents of January’s Art Snacks box! It was like it was made just for me:

Gorgeous high-flow, fluorescent acrylic paints by Golden (a brand I’ve always wanted to try!); a blue marker with two different tips, and water-based so that you can dip the brush tip end into water and achieve a watercolor effect (so much fun, even if you’re like me and have no clue when it comes to watercolor!); an amazing paintbrush with synthetic hair; and an oversized pencil. I am so in love with all of the products, but especially the paints. I think I might have to use some of my Christmas gift cards on more of the Golden high-flow paints!

Here was my attempt at this months Art Snacks Challenge:

It was a lot of fun, but I think I need some more practice, particularly with the “watercolor” aspect haha. I’m really looking forward to next month’s box!

I want to thank you for sharing your visual journal process. I’m a high school art teacher and my students are using the Visual Journal as their portfolio of their art work through the school year. I have some amazing results and I’m excited to show my student your artwork today. Thanks, Coach Ball

I’m so sorry it’s taken me 4 days to see this comment! Wow, thank you so much for showing my work – I’m extremely flattered. I’m glad your students have been enjoying art journaling and making some great art! I find keeping a visual journal is so rewarding and helps to improve my art, hopefully they get the same out of the process 🙂 thanks again for your comment!
