As I mentioned in the last post, my Year of Creative Habits project evolved in week 17. While I was super proud I had achieved over 100 days of making art on post-it notes, I realized I was already creating every day in my art journal (or in other ways) and sometimes the post-its were getting in the way of what I actually wanted to do. I think the post-its served their purpose to get me into the habit, but now I can count other things as my creativity for the day. I’m sure I’ll revisit them eventually, as I really love working so small and making the little books, but the project needed to grow!
I continued with the post-its throughout week 16. My favorites are day 107 (featuring my new nail polish), day 108 (even though it came from a painful place) and day 110 (which was done in 5 minutes before going to see Mastodon live!).
Day two of week 17 is when I changed my mind about the project. I feel happy with how it’s going so far, and I now have more time for other projects I needed to devote time to. For example, day 115 is from my collaboration with Vanessa and days 116-118 are from my collaboration with Beatriz. I also started a huge altered book on day 119, which I’m really pleased with so far! I feel like my art has kicked up a level and I can’t wait to see where it takes me!
